Emthonjeni: Easter in Zandspruit

Today, 21 April 2011, we received a donation of 50 easter egg boxes from PWC and distributed them in the Zandspruit Informal settlement.

Children came running from all over to get their Easter eggs.!

Emthojeni Community Centres: Flu vaccination

Olivedale Clinic will be visiting our Emthonjeni Zandspruit Centre on 28 April 2011 to give flu vaccination to our seniors and our staff.

Opening of soccer Leaque

Sinqono Masisonke soccer club under the umbrella of my life my Africa, had an opening of a kids soccer league on the 9th of April 2011. Parents and supporters came in numbers to support their kids. It was a fun filled day. This way kids are out of the street and playing soccer.

Business skills training session

City of Joburg is giving skills training to the community of Zandspruit; those who currently own their business or want to own a business in the future. They give business classes once a week at Emthonjeni. Their course entails: access to finance, Human Resource, Tendering and Taxation.

I CAN maak 'n verskil in kinderharte.....

Carli en Leon van Niekerk het nadat hulle die Immergroen Ouerskap kursus by Mosaiek bygewoon het, inspirasie gekry om christelike normes en waardes by die huis toe te pas en het besluit om vir “lent” hierdie jaar die gesin se Saterdae “strawberry milkshakes” op te offer vir “liefdadigheidsprojekte”.  Die “strawberry milkshake” fonds is toe geskenk vir Mosaiek se “I CAN” blikkieskos-projek.

Earth Hour

Komende Saterdag, 26 Maart 2011, om 20:30 gaan ligte reg oor die wêreld afgeskakel word vir een uur lank, om 'n bewustheid te skep rondom die stryd teen aardverwarming. Daar word gehoop dat mense hulself sal commit tot aksies wat verder as net dié uur strek, en gewoontes begin aanleer waardeur hulle energie kan spaar, en so 'n waardevolle bydrae kan lewer. Ons nooi jou om ook aan die WWF-inisiatief deel te neem.

I CAN

Missional Expressions invite the Mosaiek congregation to participate in our annual People Project during the season of Lent and Easter.  This is the time of year that we identify with the suffering of the world as we identify with the suffering of Christ.

People Project– In lyn met ons passie om 'n verskil te maak in ‘n gebroke wêreld, wil ons hierdie jaar in Lydenstyd, as ’n gemeenskap, honger mense dien.  Dit is ’n kans om ons te vereenselwig  met  persone in uitdagende lewensomstandighede.
